Ted Drewes Frozen Custard is best known for our shakes called “concretes” that can be turned upside down!

Be sure to ask the attendant to see the letter of kosher certification as not all products are kosher certified. The Vaad Hoeir recommends that when ordering a concrete, malt or shake, to ask the attendant to run a cup of plain water on the spindle prior to making your order.

Next Dor

Next Dor is a vibrant center of activity that builds community for young Jewish adults. In addition to formal programming created by young adults, the Next Dor house, located in the Central West End, is gaining popularity as a place where young Jewish adults can meet, relax and build community. Next Dor offers Jewish learning opportunities, holiday celebrations, community service initiatives, social activities and more.

Cultural Leadership

Cultural Leadership is modeled after a similar program in Washington, D.C., Operation Understanding DC (founded by Karen Kalish in 1993), which was inspired by a similar program, Operation Understanding, begun in Philadelphia in 1985 by former Congressman William H. Gray III and George Ross, former President of the American Jewish Committee in Philadelphia. Both programs were designed to rekindle the historical alliance between Jews and African Americans. (Click here to learn more.) Historically, these two groups have worked side by side to fight for social justice. Cultural Leadership expanded on this mission.

Berger Memorial Chapel

Berger Memorial Chapel has served the St. Louis Jewish community since 1896, providing compassionate, professional and personal guidance and support to area families in times of need.

We offer a full range of traditional funeral services to meet the needs of the families we serve—at our chapel, at a local temple or synagogue or at one of the six Jewish cemeteries in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. We also offer pre-planned and pre-paid funeral services, and provide assistance to families seeking information regarding Jewish funeral services in areas outside of St. Louis.

A proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network since 1993, Berger Memorial Chapel remains a locally managed and operated funeral home. Richard W. Stein, and his daughter, Emily Stein MacDonald, represent the fourth and fifth generations to extend the tradition and legacy of the family-operated business. The Berger Memorial Chapel staff remain committed to the St. Louis Jewish community and the families we serve.

Please contact us if you need immediate assistance, or you would like more information about our services.
